Blog

something really cool comin' up...

believe it or not, friends and foes...

my latest release in swedish "Att Vara..." is still a work in progress...

i recorded that song in 3 different versions:

* the one currently on spotify (if you still haven't heard it, here it is: Att Vara...)
* an edm version (edm = electronic dance music)

* a country music version

i've been trying my best for far too long now, to mix and master the edm version, to get it sounding as awesome and pumpin', as it should, but i've failed every time and had to start over, again and again...

finally, about a week ago, i decided to make one final attempt at it...

once again a failed and for a while i considered just letting it go and throw it away...

i couldn't make it sound like i wanted to...

mixing is far from easy and i'm not that great at it to start with...

add to that, a completely new sound for me, that i'm not used to working with...

well, so i finally gave up on mixing it myself...

i started asking around for help with mixing this edm version of the song, that i still, after all, always felt had the potential to be great...

but it was obvious that i needed help to make it sound as great as it did in my head...

a guy called tommy tacacho, from västerås (originally from åmål, about 40 km from bengtsfors, where i live), reached out and offered to help out...

so i sent him all the separate tracks and hoped for the best...

i was in shock when i heard what he had done with the song!!

this guy is so talented and really took this version of the song to another level!!

sounds killer!!

can't wait for you to hear it!

you better hold on to something and get ready for it, cause it's coming soon!!

over and out!

Live Streaming and current situation...

i'm currently in the process of writing songs and getting them ready to record.
i have 3 new songs, just about ready to record, plus one more that "only" needs new lyrics.
2 of them will hopefully be in the pop punk genre and the other 2 are acoustic songs.

very much looking forward to getting this done.

i'm also considering trying out live streaming, for the very first time... 🤔

if that happens, what songs would you like to hear?

please let me know in the comments, or any way you'd prefer.
i have links to all my social media here on my site, so just leave me a comment wherever you like.

it could be just about any one of your favourite songs, but maybe i'll make some changes, to make them more "my style".

the only requirements i have are the following:

1 - i'll need to like the songs (a lot)

2 - the songs need to be in english or in swedish

3 - no rap

4 - no jazz

5 - no opera

5-Year Anniversary!

Today is the 5-year anniversary, for the release of my debut album, "Leaving"!

Another reminder that time really flies.

About time to start planning the next one.

I have a couple of new songs all ready to record and a few more I'm working on...

I've had some problems with my audio interface, which is a huge motivatonkiller...

So today, i celebrated the day of the debut album release, by buying a new audio interface.

Very much looking forward to start recording with it.

New Years Eve 2019...

i wrote most of this on new years eve, but i didn't have time to finish this post at the time, so it's a little late, but anyway...

sooo, today is new years eve...

i'm feeling a little sad every time another year ends, because it's such an obvious reminder of how fast time flies.

a much better way to look at it, is something i read the other day:

"the new year is like a blank book.

the pen is in your hands.

it is your chance to write a beautiful story  for yourself."

very cool!

sounds like a plan!

MY LIVE MUSIC YEAR 2019

2019 wasn't the most productive year for me, musically.

i played at jonnys classic meeting 2019-05-18.

it's basically a meeting and exhibition for old cars and motorcycles.

it was a cool gig.

thanx to jonny andersson.

i played at dalslands kulturauktion 2019-07-28.

it was a nice gig, as usual.

a lot of people coming and going, in and out of the auction.

thanx to jonny andersson.

i also played at the local theatre called folkparken valhall, as they had their 90 years celebration, 2019-08-24.

i worked the graveyard shift that night, so i played at the open mic, just before going to work.

it was inside the café building and half of it was covered by huge posts of pictures and magazine articles, from those 90 years of memories and adventures.

thanx to dick johansson and tomas sannebro.

other than that , i only played a couple of times at the local open mic, in bengtsfors.

thanx to sensus dalsland and dick johansson.

i also played with the 9-man-band, bärt-mårtenz.

we've been rehearsing on mondays, every 2 weeks for some time now.

we played in public for the very first time, together as a band, at the local school, called strömkulle.

it was a lot of fun and we were all happy with most of the performance.

thanx to dick johansson.

our drummer, robert hansson, decided to quit the band, so we got another great drummer, called glenn andersson.

we also played another gig together, in a nearby village, called bäckefors.

it was the first time bäckefors had an open mic event and so we wanted to play there.

it was very nice and a lot of people.

thanx to sensus dalsland and john johansson.

LIVE EVENTS 2019

unfortunately, we didn't go to that many live events 2019.

in february, we went to see stefan andersson at kajskjul 8, in gothenburg.

he and his band had a show there called "flygblad över berlin", which was very good.

a great combination of good food, good music, humour, excitement and some dark and sad moments as well.

we've already got tickets for this same show in 2020.

here's a live video from that show:

somewhere around april, we went to karlstad to see "jack moy & glöden", who was playing at the rock bar.

it was a really good show.

not many people there, but it's a pretty small place and a small stage, so it felt intimate, sweaty and loud.

just like a good rock 'n roll night should be.

here's a little something with them, from a much bigger stage and outside at liseberg:

in the summer we saw the farewell tour, of one of the biggest bands in sweden, ever.

they are called "gyllene tider" and 2019 was their 40:th year celebration, as a band

excellent show at ullevi, in gothenburg and loooots of hits.

here's a video from that very show:

we also went to the small island marstrand and saw stefan andersson again.

it's one of our yearly traditions during the summer and this must be number... 8-9 maybe?

it's the same show every time, but it's always such an amazing evening and a lot of people come back to see the show over and over again, because they really

enjoy it that much.

it also helps that marstrand is a very nice place in the summertime.

it's pretty much the same combination of good food, good music, humour, excitement and some dark and sad moments as well, as i described his other show, but

this one feels darker and moodier.

the show is held inside a huge fortress, called "carlstens fästning" and all the songs played, are written specifically about the prisonors, guards and others, who

spent their lives in this fortress, a long time ago. all based on true stories.

we'll be back in 2020!

here's a video from one of the these shows:

SPOTIFY PROGRESS 2019

compared to last year, my spotify numbers are a little bit improved.

a small step in the right direction.

thanx for listening and for your continued support!

here are some of my spotify statistics for 2019:

SONGWRITING 2019

i haven't been very productive with this either.

i have written some new songs that are basically finished to record and i've recorded a bunch of ideas on my phone to use for upcoming songs, but nothing new has been properly recorded (except for 1 song, that i'm writing about in the "new music" section").

i'm hoping 2020 will be more productive for me in all areas.

correction!

i'm gonna make 2020 more productive for me in all areas!

NEW MUSIC 2019

i released one new song this year.

it was made available on spotify, apple music and looots of other streaming sites 2019-04-26.

here it is, if you wanna listen to it on spotify:

https://open.spotify.com/track/59OpgKxKfU3s2sGfQsVExy?si=1cfJtYQHQriUvzb083J4kA

i also made a lyricvideo for it, which i posted on youtube a little before spotify.

here's the video, if you wanna check it out:

it was the first song i ever wrote in swedish and it's called "att vara..." (it means "to be...")

there's a lot to be said about this song and if you wanna know more about it, you can just click on the link to get to more info.

https://andreasbryntesson.com/blog/blog/new-original-song-s-about-to-be-released

this year, me and my wife have been together for 20 years and married for 10 years!

i just had to write a song about that.

we celebrated our anniversary at a very nice hotel on tenerife and we had a wonderful week there.

that's where i first played "our" song for my wife, in our hotelroom.

i had already programmed the music on my ipad and i had the lyrics on my phone, so that way i could make some kind of a halfdecent attempt to use what i had

and perform the song for her, as best as i could.

turns out we both like it, so that's gonna be interesting to release, once it's all done.

it's my second song in swedish, but i still haven't gotten around to record it, so that's one of the projects i'll be working on this year.

haven't fully decided on a titlle yet, but so far it's called "valt varandra", which means "chosen eachother".

i'm also currently working on a song that's more in the genre of punk rock.

i've finished writing the lyrics and most of the music (maybe all of it actually), but i still haven't started recording it.

there's a few good options for titles, but right now, i'd guess it's gonna be called "rescue me", or maybe "adrenaline".

with a title like that, you know it's gonna be something really cool, right? ;-)

i really hope it's gonna turn out just like in my head, cause that would be amazing...

easier said than done though, so i guess we'll just have to see about that.

TRAGEDIES 2019

marie fredriksson, the singer of the swedish band roxette tragically died recently.

they have sooo many hits and she had an amazing voice.

thanx marie, for all the memories!

kim shattuck, the singer and songwriter of the muffs also tragically died a couple of months ago.

sadly, i discovered this band after reading about kims struggle with als, but once i heard them, i couldn't stop listening.

i really like their style of music and a bunch of their songs are totally awesome.

i only wish i'd known about them a long time ago...

they honestly deserve to be a lot bigger than they are.

thanx kim, for all the screams!

CONCLUSION 2019

as i said before, i know this is a little late, but i still wanna wish everyone a happy new year.

don't be afraid to take chances (telling myself that as well).

hit me 2020!

Dalslands KulturAuktion 2019...

Tomorrow 2019-07-28, it's time for this year's event, in Dals Långed, Sweden.

I've been invited and asked to play 2 sets with mostly songs by Creedence/ john Fogerty, but also a couple of my own songs and 1-2 covers by other artists.

So that's what i'm planning to do.

If you wanna hear some classic tunes tomorrow and/ or are interested in the auction, you'll know where it's all happening (all info is in the poster).

As always, this is all for a good cause and this year, all profits go to doctors without borders, aka MSF.

Thanx to Jonny Andersson, for arranging this event.

PS! it's probably worth mentioning that this in a cash only event.

Open Mic - 2019-04-24...

me and some friends have been playing music on mondays , for a while.

we're playing covers of different genres.

songs that we all like and enjoy playing.

this wednesday, we played in front of an audience, for the very first time together, as a "band".

it was the season finale of open mic in bengtsfors, sweden.

this time it was held at a close by school café (strömkullecaféet), which is bigger and, in some ways, better than where it's usually happening, at sensus.

since we're 9 guys, we got there early, so we had enough time to set everything up.

and since we were already set up, we got to start the evening by playing 5 songs.

these are the songs we played:

1 - billy ray cyrus - achy breaky heart

2 - billy joe shaver - live forever

3 - john fogerty - deja vu

4 - kim larsen - this is my life

5 - creedence - the midnight special

everything went great and all of us had a great time.

mikael blom was the soundguy of this evening and, as usual, he did a great job and made everything sound right.

after we'd played our songs we packed up our gear and started listening to the other performers.

when it got close to the end of the evening, we found out that dick johansson, who's running all open mics, wanted us to end the evening with one more song.

we decided to play a song that everyone knew well.

6 - creedence - lodi

this song didn't go as well though, since our gear was out of place and we didn't have enough time to set things up.

i had a really hard time hearing the drums, so once during the song, i noticed that i was totally out of sync and had to make some "on-the-fly" adjustments, to get it right again.

anyway.

we had a lot of fun and that's what matters the most.

thanx to everyone who showed up!

thanx to sensus for having these events!

thanx to mikael blom for the great sound!

thanx to dick johansson for bringing big city open mics to the small village called bengtsfors!

Att Vara... New Original Song 2019...

The upcoming release Att vara... is set to go live on multiple platforms, on the 26th of April 2019.

It's gonna be available on Spotify, Itunes and plenty of other sites, on that date

Right now you can only hear it on Youtube:

Andreas Bryntesson - Att Vara... New Original Song 2019 (Lyric Video)...

dear friends and foes!

i released my new original song into the world last night.

finally, after all this time...

i really hope you'll like it.

feel free to comment and please share it, so more of your friends can hear it.

for more info about this song, the songwriting, the recording process and more...

you'll find it in my previous blog post: https://andreasbryntesson.com/blog/blog/new-original-song-s-about-to-be-released

one thing i didn't mention, is that i couldn't decide what genre i wanted to do, so i made 3 totally different versions of this song.

1 is a country version, 1 is an edm version and 1 was the finished result that you can now listen to.

it was a very hard choice, cause i really liked all 3 versions.

here's the link to the song on youtube:

Andreas Bryntesson - Att Vara... New Original Song 2019 (Lyric Video)...

New original song's about to be released...

I've been working hard the last few months to finally finish my latest project.

It's a song with quite a story.

I wrote it some time way back in '95 - '99, in a small and blue attic, that i used to live in.

it was my very first own apartment and i stayed there for about 10 years.

I felt like i wanted to try to write the lyrics in swedish, for the first time.

I think it's harder to write lyrics in your own language, cause the words become much more personal and important.

Anyway, the mindset going into writing those lyrics, was to just clear my head of everything and just write whatever comes out.

Those lyrics that i wrote that day, turned out to be quite dark and gloomy, but still with a little bit of hope tucked in there.

I can't remember how i felt back then, but i'm guessing, listening to the lyrics, that it wasn't my happiest moment.

Me and my brother made a recording of the song, on my yamaha 4-channel cassette recorder.

It was hard rock.

Heavily distorted guitars from my hamer guitar and my brother's zoom distortion pedal.

The drums were a simple drum beat from my alesis sr-16 drum machine, with some fills at the appropriate places.

There was no bass, so it sounds pretty thin, but we had a lot of fun.

Maybe i'll post that old version as well, just so you can hear the difference...

I'll bet some of you will probably prefer that old one, before this new version of the song.

They sound dramatically different imho.

Not at all the same genre anymore.

I've also made some musical changes to the chorus, which make the song sound more dynamic.

I bought my first ipad a couple of years ago.

I knew there were a ton of awesome music apps on that platform, that you can't get elsewhere.

I bought a lot of really cool music apps and decided that i wanted to try and record this song on the ipad.

I have a soundcard (rme babyface) that's compatible with the ipad, so that worked like a charm.

I recorded all the vocals, all the bass and some of the guitars onto my ipad, using an app called auria pro.

Auria pro is one of a few awesome daws for the ipad and everything worked great.

The rest of the instruments, drums, some of the guitars and the piano were created, using a combination of different ipad apps and pc programs.

I imported the song and the instruments from my ipad to my pc and did all the editing, mixing and mastering process, in a pc daw called cubase 8.5.

I decided to release this song as a lyricvideo.

It's actually finished already, but the problem is that the file size is too big to upload, so i'll have to find a way to shrink it and still maintain the highest possible

quality.

So that's what i'm doing right now.

I'll probably make a new post when i've found a solution to this problem and i've uploaded the video to youtube.

I've never even come close to the amount of time and work, that i've put into this song.

I really hope you'll like it.

Huggz and kizzez to everyone!
